The main difference between the ES2($199) and ES3($329) is the 2nd battery attached to exterior of the steering column, which you can see. This battery increases the functional range from about 12miles(ES2) to 25 miles(ES2+Xbat/ES3).
If you are interested in saving $50: This battery is plug & play with an ES2, with the additional of a physical bracket + 2 screws. The app & scooter display immediately recognizes the increased battery capacity and range. A VERY GOOD CONDTION used battery + bracket can be acquired for about $80 from Amazon sellers promising 10 charge cycles or less, which you can verify with the NINEDASH app. Recharge time obviously increases but I have done this and it's very easy to do. You can get cheaper used batteries on ebay but they def look more beat up and usually don't include the bracket + bolts that are needed.
Segway is like the Honda/Toyota of scooters. Highly reliable and mod friendly.
Extra $50 off for ANY additional item. Added a $5 part and got the $50 off price. ES2 came out to sub-total of about $155 for the two items.

My daughter has the C8... its ok. Well built but you have to manually build up speed before the electric motor kicks in. And it struggles up a medium grade hill. But for this price it's a win.
I have a used Kickscooter Max and have used it to get around the city for like three years - it was totally worth it. Dunno about the other models but I have heard good things about the G30LP (the lower range version of the Max).
I would be a bit cautious about range - when looking at range, imagine 60% of advertised as the max you'll get, then 60% of that if you e.g. are in cold weather.

All scooters have to be manually pushed to get rolling. If they didnt people would be hurting themselves accidentally pressing the handle
I got an ES2 a week ago. Arrived looking brand new. Great condition. Bought for my son. For me (200 pounds) it's underpowered and the electronic braking is weird (it lurches you forward which feels a bit unsafe if you're not used to it). For the price it's good enough.
I bought an es2 and it won't charge, returned and ordered another es2 which worked fine for a week and then it won't charge most of the time. Will be returning and ordering f30

You can adjust the torque and speed using custom firmware, just need an Android device (firestick should work). Also you get more power if you add the accessory battery which basically makes it an ES3. YouTube the firmware part.
