The Revstar is an amazing guitar. But you should try and get into the standard series if you can—stainless steel frets and other superior specs, and an interesting built in boost.

Haven't played the newer versions, but the old rs5xx I played was awesome and punched way above its weightclass

I'd say both really scream with some overdrive and can shred any track with the proper tuning.

Revstar Standard is underpriced at full price. My only criticism is that it's a good bit heavier than I expected and I couldn't find a finish I loved, but stainless frets, satin neck, innovative build, and extremely weird yet useful electronics are worth it.

Yeah ask Dave @ Franlkin Guitars to find you one. It took about 3 years after launch to see any reasonable discounts. The element series RSE is not going to do justice at that price. The RSS (Standard) is good as long as you like Gibsons.

Looked at one of the revstars down from 1338 to 850...had pix and video...watched on that said they go for 799 lol. So they've doubled the price, but hey look at that sale! Love the look of revstars though...

Evidently full price used to be 799 according to Daryl braun...
