I've never had a bag older than 2 months from the manufacture date when it arrived from Amazon. Bags undergo a nitrogen flush to preserve freshness. It really works. Unless the bag is compromised and nitrogen leaks out.

I buy in bulk when Lavazza bags go on sale. I've had a bag that was 9 months past the manufacture date (was 2 months past when it arrived from Amazon). Tasted as good as the bags that that were 2 months past that arrived as I was finishing the 9-month bag.

I have used fresh roasted coffee too.

I think the bigger issue is not the bean, but the machine. That could be a bumper sticker

I have a profitec 700 (upgraded from the 600) and a eureka mignon (with 65mm burrs).

Bad coffee tastes bad. But consistently bad. Good coffee always tastes good.

With lower quality hardware, espresso quality floats between good and bad when using good coffee. It's a crap shoot. An entire bag, or more, could taste bad. The the coffee gets the blame.

My real world example, of brewing a bag nine months from the manufacturing date, and compare that to a bag the next day which is 2 months away from the manufacturing date, and there was no discernible difference.

Three people tasted that coffee. I doubt all of us have bad taste bud :-)

Just information. I didn't want to be argumentative but they could be various reasons of why we experience what we experience.

Everyone is different

Great coffee. Perfect for our Gaggia.

Unfortunately, however, not seeing a 35% off coupon to clip on Amazon...

It can be either - depending on how you prepare it. They're whole coffee beans to grind and then prepared to your preference of coffee or espresso.

Is there any way to get the 15% subscribe and save to apply now, using stuff I'm already subscribed to?

Yes, if you have at least 4 subscriptions scheduled. On the order page, you may have to click the "change" link where it says "First delivery on xxx xx" and schedule it with the others, if it defaults to the immediate shipping 5% S&S option.

Bold of you to assume this isn't already stale. Many reviews mention their bags being 6-12 months old on arrival.

Coupon doesn't show for me. I recently ordered with a 30% coupon so that may have disqualified me.
