Not sure an 8 core cpu will be enough as a router. Don't get me wrong they are excellent for productivity and 4k gaming etc but you need at least a threadripper for routing the entire internet traffic of North America.

is the cl36 a big deal on these bundles. Heard CL30 is what you want. How would I notice the difference for gaming streaming video editing?

I'd say realistically the only impact you'd see comparatively is when video editing and or transferring large files. The RAM benefit would likely kick in mainly during heavy reading/writing operations, hence when rendering or exporting videos. I don't think you'll really see a big difference unless you're working with huge video productions.

For video editing more ram = better, speed barely would ever matter.

Seems like a decent MB combo. Are we able to upgrade the processor to 7800x3d or 7900x?

from what i heard, that entirely depends on the store manager.

The bundle with the 7800X3D is $500. I chose the $400 I9-12900K one because i'm not a serious gamer and just needed something fast for web browsing

For gaming a 7700x, intel one runs hotter and is harder to cool. However if you can keep it cool and do video editing/productivity etc then the intel one is better.

How is the quality of MB on that bundle, see some questionable reviews. What heat sink did you get for the cpu?

I concur. I've had issues but got it working. Slower boot times as well. I keep getting crashes when running expo.

not really. Ryzen ram is picky but what I would say is look through benchmarks for your usecase, be it gaming (warzone is hella unoptimized, x3d chip gives you a better boost and low 1% than ram of CL30 vs CL36) or actual tasks (say you're using Davinci Resolve, which imo doesn't have any benefit for CL30 ram. I know adobe suite doesn't benefit last I had looked). Streaming doesn't benefit much from ram speed. You'd be utilizing nvenc on your gpu chip 90% of the time. The 10% would be utilizing a second pc (i did it for 2+ years.).

there isn't a huge difference for 95% of the people. the 5% wouldn't use this combo but the 7800x3D bundle (bought it from microcenter last year. Thank God no issues. Similar Motherboard and Ram too). I play finals mostly, 1080p IPS and I do notice the smoothness and since it is a Unreal Engine 5 game, I get the benefit of the optimizations I did for Fortnite when I was playing comp. Generally speaking, if you do the windows optimizations, you'll gain far more consistent performance than with just adding hardware..

This is a good bundle. unless you're chasing 240 fps, this is more than enough. Most people are on 144-180 anyways. GPU would matter too. Quite happy with my 2080Ti for years. Thank God.
