DeWalt and Ryobi batteries are the same voltage. DeWalt just labels them at their maximum fully charged voltage and Ryobi labels them at their operating voltage.

Notice that there is always on asterisk when DeWalt talks about their 20V MAX* batteries. This asterisk points to this fine print:*Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.

A few months ago the set that also included a 2 amp and charger went on sale for $109. This deal is pretty good though.

That's what I'm saying. They say Ryobi uses Japanese cells in 6 Ah and above. I'm posting this, waiting for someone to tell us more.

I don't know about Japanese cells, but I wasn't overly impressed with my HE 6.0 battery.
Using it in the full size brushless reciprocating saw, it kept overheating and shutting down, then drained completely pretty fast. No scientific comparison or anything, but I was expecting more longevity compared to the 4.0.
I'm curious how much better the new Ryobi batteries will be compared to the current HE ones too.
I suspect we will see some decent clearance deals on the older ones when the new ones hit the market.

HE 6.0 did much better than regular 4.0 in my string trimmer. It also outperforms with the vacuum. Haven't tried it with the saw yet.

Use these batteries in my Dyson V8 (of which the stock battery is trash)...Works great!

What to do with Ryobi dead 2A batteries?
They charge to 100% but discharge in less than a min. So no charge and possibly might have gone dead by now in the last 6+ months.

Recycle these it is there is way to revive?

Which adapter did you get? My Dyson batteries are still under 1 year but I hear a lot of people don't get more than a few years. And my Ryobi batteries keep reproducing!!

The Dyson batteries are garbage. You can vaccum on Max for like 7 minutes till it dies. I can vaccuum my entire 3000 sq ft house on max using the Ryobi battery.

This one may work for you..
https://www.amazon.com/TPDL-Dewal...979CM?th=1
but you would need a dewalt 20v battery as they are higher voltage.

are they completely dead?

I have given up on reviving these. Not worth the effort. Once they start to flake in high power tools I'll mark them and use them in low power tools like small fan, glue gun, light, etc. So far that has worked well for me.
