I pre-ordered this set for $50 and had so much fun building it with my partner. Currently decorating the tv stand. Very tasteful. It is small though. I feel like a better price would be $30. It was a fairly simple build. The colors in the instructions are little off so it did make building it a little more challenging in a fun way. Depends how much you love it in my opinion, we tried to spread the fun out over a couple different days so i felt like it was $50 worth of quality time together but we really like star wars.

Best price I've seen on this set yet but still feels a bit pricey given the scale. I really like this set but I'll hold off for a hopefully lower price. Thanks!

This can be hung on the wall in whole or by each segment. There is a piece on the back of each segment that can attach to wall hooks.

$42 is still way too much for this set. Lego is honestly just trolling at this point.

They're the size of postcards? That doesn't seem like it's worth $42 to me.

I may be getting old and cranky, but when I was a kid, Legos were blocks that you could use to make things you imagined. Then they turned into 3D jigsaw puzzle kits to make something predetermined. Now they're used to make art instead of toys?

Hard to get used to this.

Cool models/artwork. I didn't even know these existed. Yeah, maybe a little pricey, but that's the "Lego tax". I like that I can hand them on the wall and not use up more tabletop space (like most Lego models).

I hear you. When I was growing up, there were about 6 different colors and we came up with most of our own models or bought books that showed rough steps to create something new.

I do like that they're branching out a bit to appeal to wider audiences and tastes. I'd love to be able to justify the $170 for this model, but I can't get there:

Similarly, I love the "architecture" and "mini-city-scapes" series (we were gifted New York, and it's pretty cool), I just can't swallow the pricetags ($50-$100 each):

You can still buy large boxes of assorted Legos and build what you imagine but there's also a lot of different types of Legos for all sorts.

You can still buy box sets intended exactly for that. However, Legos has evolved to include all ages by having categories catered even for adults like their art, architecture, creator, and concept series. Legos has figured out a way to keep their consumer base that has grown up with them from childhood to parents, to even grandparents. When I look at my sets: Saturn V, Lunar Lander, Statue of Liberty, Mustang, International Space Station, Ship in a Bottle, Capitol Building, or White House… there's a lot of imagination happening in my head. It's not like it was when we were children, but our imagination is still there.
