It's a good deal right now today, but the 4080 "Super" releasing $200 cheaper is going to keep putting pressure on the XTX, and by extension the XT. I'd be surprised if we don't see better deals over the next several months.
If you're looking at rasterized 4K performance, the 4080 Super is beating the 7900 XT by 15-20% and costs $1000 vs $700 (~40% more). If you factor in the extra price you pay for nVidia's power efficiency, ray tracing, and software support, then it makes a $700 price tag on the 7900 XT kind of reasonable in comparison.

Honestly, I think this price point is kind of weird. This is a ton of money to spend on a graphics card and I imagine that many people who are willing to spend $700 are willing to spend $900-1000 for that extra performance. Anyone (like me) who is willing to settle for QHD instead of 4K will spend $300-400 instead.

I've been wanting a 4080 Super but none in stock. Until stock stabilizes, I don't think AMD will do too much cuts.

I don't intent to play in 4k. I have a qhd monitor, is the 7900xt overkill?
My other option is 7800xt. I would have jumped on 4070super if they had 16gb VRAM. I only game. Should I still get the 7900xt or 7800xt

AMD really needs to be 20% cheaper at same performance to compete.

Assuming 4080 super price doesnt drop, I believe we will see $750-800 7900 XTX and $600-650 7900 XTs as "standard price", with occassional short term sales for slightly even lower than that.

I wouldn't pay the premium for 7900 XT to play QHD.
Tom's Hardware Review [tomshardware.com]
If you look at the above review, they see QHD performance from even the 7700 XT as being sufficient to achieve >60 fps. I'd say that a RX 6700 is probably the cheapest QHD capable card you can get right now. It might be worth stepping up to a 7700 XT or 7800 XT depending on how you look at it and how much you're willing to spend.

I bought an Nvidia 4070 Super for their "software" support, specifically for Av1 Exporting using Video Editing Software Davinci Resolve. It is paywalled for Nvidia only, Amd/Intel GPU can freely export Av1. So I would say Nvidia's included software is very hit or miss.

This is not a rating site, though. It is a bargains site. With that $30 off coupon this is a lukewarm SD deal, especially if combined with the Amex promo. Suum cuique.
