The main advantage of the gram in the weight for the size. Usually 16/17 inch laptops would be desktop replacement and not somthing some one would like to carry around.

This has an IPS screen vs AMOLED on the Asus.
Asus as the H series i7 vs the P series on this one.
RAM not upgradable in both.
This has 2 usb A ports vs 1 on the asus.

i have this laptop, i got it for lightwork and travel, i already have a really beefy tower so my main concern was weight and battery life, this one is miles ahead of the competition in those 2 categories. i heavily considered the 14inch model since it's like almost a pound lighter but i opted for the bigger screen since i don't like straining my eyes. it works great as a browser machine, no regrets.

Looks like the Asus smokes the gram for power but the battery life on the gram crushes

We're crossing that threshold where 16GB is being taxed by a few apps and a lot of tabs, which is average usage in my experience as a general IT tech. Yes, settings can be tweaked, but the better solution is more RAM -- laptops that don't allow for upgrades are terrible in several ways.

I love Amazon but ever since I got an empty box delivered instead of a gaming laptop I've had PTSD and can't consider it a viable option.

Just this past week I had a box delivered that looks exactly like a laptop box, but of course it wasn't a laptop, and I found the box had been opened at the taped seam in a manner that was clear it was to check the contents
