The mobile 4080 is approximately 30% faster than the mobile 3080ti in gaming at 1440p. The 13900hx has 8 additional e-cores for massively improved multithreaded performance in addition to having more L2 cache and stronger singlethreaded performance than the 12900hx. The 240hz screen is also a huge upgrade over the 165hz screen in this deal. While the old version of the pro 7i had a couple of nicer features that got cut from the newer version (and the extra 4gb of vram in the 3080ti is obviously nice), in terms of core performance this laptop is simply tremendously worse.
Anyone looking to purchase a legion 7i should wait for deals like this one at $1900 to come back: https://slickdeals.net/f/17101306-lenovo-16-legion-pro-7i-16irx8h-gaming-laptop-i9-13900hx-16-1600p-240hz-32gb-ram-1tb-ssd-rtx-4080-1899-b-h-deal-zone-limited-time
