I have been daily driving the one with the actual pop socket on the outside of the wallet. This is a great little piece for EDC and can hold 3 cards comfortably and a 4th if you are ok with a squeeze and potentially making it overstretch so 3 or less aren't as tight.

Yes, this and other MagSafe wallets can (but not always) demagnetize your stripe-only credit cards. I have not had any issue with contactless or with chip-based payments and only one of my magnetic stripes has stopped working (Citibank) in the last 2 years.

If this had the actual socket or another way to use it as a holder or stand in addition to the wallet, I would buy this just to have a backup.

Long story short, I bought the MagSafe with socket version the week it came out years ago and it is still going strong!

If you're the type who loses your wallet, but not your phone, a wallet case is perfect. I'm this type as I would forget my wallet in my backpack or at home frequently. Now I never forget it.

If you're the type who loses your phone, a wallet case is a bad idea.

If you're the type who loses your phone and your wallet, no one can help you there.

Been an iPhone user since 1st gen (2007) and phone wallet user since the iPhone 6 (2014). Never lost either.

So it's not a case with a wallet, it's just the wallet?

Would be nice if the actual magsafe popsocket went on sale again. $30 for plastic is absurd.

These are the only ones I trust to stay tightly attached. I ordered a couple for my daughters. Hope to god they stop taking the phone out of the clear case and putting money in there.

Many of us have found PopSocket wallets to be a great way for metal cards inside to get demagnetized. Be forewarned if you have any cards that aren't plastic.

Agreed. I think I bought mine for $20 back when it went on sale at Best Buy. I think this will be my preferred wallet for many, many years to come.

Also, with this wallet, you COULD stick a Popsocket on it, but will it last/stick for a long time? Maybe.

OH wow I was wondering why some of my cards don't work in the meter machines that use the magnetic strip.

From PopSocket's website [popsockets.com]:
  • Can hold up to 3 credit cards or 6 business cards, depending on the card thickness. Works best with rounded corner business cards
  • Credit cards are shielded from magnets when in wallet
  • Do not place cards on the back surface of the wallet. Cards can be demagnetized.
  • Dimensions: Wallet width: 57.35mm, Wallet length: 87.77mm, Wallet thickness: 7.32mm
So as long as you don't put a card on the back surface it shouldn't get demagnetized.
