To be sure, this is not a rigorous comparison--but I took the ingredients list of the two and removed the ingredients they share, which left the following list of unique ingredients:

Dove Men+Care Bar: Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Palmitate, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoate or Sodium Palm Kernelate, Dipropylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol

Dove Beauty Bar: Sodium Oleate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Laurate

My layman's understanding is that the Sodium -ates are usually ingredients that remove oils, dirt, etc. I think the Glycols are related to fragrance management, and Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a thickener. It stands to reason that the greater number of Sodium -ates in the Men+Care bar would account for it feeling a little harsher. It's also my go-to bar soap, as it has a nice scent and is a gentler product than other cheap bar soaps--e.g. your Irish Springs, Zests, etc

This is a cleanser bar, not soap. Remember, there's a huge difference.

What that difference is I couldn't tell you, but it most definitely isn't a bar of soap, it's a cleansing bar.

This is my favorite bar shower soap. Yes the cleanser bar is a bit more harsh than the super soft regular Dove which I prefer for my skin.

I'm not seeing the 20% off, but still a good deal IMO.

NY tax makes it $9.37 but still 66cents per bar is ok. I still prefer BJ's for Irish Spring 20ct for $12.49 (even cheaper with the coupon they do sometimes)

I prefer Irish spring as well, but I've heard they've added some crap to it which makes it not nearly as nice as the original from the '90s.

I didn't have a coupon show up when I clicked on the link. I logged out, searched for "dove men soap", found the product and clicked on it. The coupon was showing up then, so I added to cart. Logged in at check out and it worked. Maybe worth a try and will work for you too??
