I have not seen this posted anywhere, but apparently, Dragonsteel Books (the e-commerce and distributor for all things Brandon Sanderson) has a couple of novellas available for free.

to be fair when I pirated the mistborn chronicles, I was not so aware I was doing so. it was sent to me before I ever heard of Sanderson, and I thought it was just fanfiction type stuff. but now I'm a fan willing to purchase his books cause of it, so I'd say it's a win for him.
