Does your post stem from willful negligence or blissful ignorance? The title clearly says SAE yet you still felt the need to tell SDers that because "you" don't use it therefore no one else needs to either.

I've been a union electrician for almost 20 years. As much as I prefer metric, I still have to use standard sizes almost each and every day. Metric is still only prominently used on specialized equipment in my field. This set is extremely useful in my use case, as it is similarly to anyone in the construction field. Standard will outlast us all, even if we don't want it to. So no, this socket is not useless, nor will it ever be to whoever is buying it.

Same. I work heavy structural steel construction.
Every church, school, hospital, court house, shit plant, water plant, bridge, sports stadium, dollar store or fast food drive thru built in this country is built using SAE fasteners.

Anybody who works construction uses mainly SAE fasteners no matter what these enlightened idiots may think.

The lug nuts on every GM truck going back as long as I can remember is SAE.
Every fastener we use at work is SAE and that won't be changing any time soon.

For $50 this is an awesome set.

SAE, no wonder. Only a handful of countries on the planet use it -- and even then, it's fading into obscurity. Spend $50 for something that'll sit there and collect dust unless you work on fossil fuel cars from your grandaddy's era.

i wonder why they chose to omit 3/8" and 1.5" in this set. they left space for them so i guess you can buy them and throw them in there

SAE is still used in american cars, construction/plumbing and in the airline industry. even modern airbus planes use SAE extensively.

as much as i hate SAE, i don't think it's going anywhere for a long time, regardless of how much you cry about it.

Glad to hear this is useful for a lot of people - particularly tradesmen. Hope the trade professionals are able to find them. Luckily, I don't think there's a lot of profit to be made by the scalpers (particularly when you factor in fairly high shipping costs on something like this) so hopefully they leave them.

it's a very good deal. don't pay attention to morons. all you need to do is take one trip to home depot's construction section to see that SAE is not only useful, but it's king

Tell that to my rust belt car, if the science units dont fit, I'll bet one of the in-betweens will snug over that rusted nut.

Also, STFU.

Neither, willful ignorance, or ignorant bliss apply here, as he knew it was SAE, himself, but was pointing it out to others that SAE might not be very useful to them.
You have an interesting approach in buying tools. Once you have enough experience under your belt you'll buy tools based on your own needs and not some random person's needs. Good luck. My comment was based on his ignorance of many other industries other than the auto industry that dominantly use SAE.
