You must not fish or you'd know that the Berkley gloves are totally different. They are designed with a special rubber coating that has hundreds of tiny bumps in the coating. They were designed to mainly grip very slimy fish and maintain your grip when they are thrashing around. The gloves from Harbor Freight are just a slick coating and the fish will slide right out. The coating might work for things in the yard, but not for fish. Same with any other gardening glove, they are not made like the Berkley gloves, plus the Berkley are made of an extra thick coating, in case you grab the fins of the fish, it won't penetrate the glove and stick you.

Dollar Tree sometimes carries gloves just like these except theirs are fluorescent yellow instead of blue/grey. So if you don't mind the color you can get 2 pairs of the Dollar Tree gloves ($1.25 each pair) for the price of one pair of these Berkley gloves. Do note that these gloves are pretty big as they are one size.
these are ideal for lobster diving in CA. the gloves without the textured rubber coating dont grip underwater and actually make stuff more slippery
gloves like this at home depot are like $15

These look JUST like gardening gloves… can anyone weigh in on that?
Gardening gloves have a slick rubber coating, good for gripping tools when working with moist dirt or in a wet environment. The fishing gloves have the same type of coating, but with hundreds of tiny bumps in the rubber, to give much better grip. The reason is that the fishing gloves are designed to grip slimy fish, sometimes extremely slimy. A plain rubber coating will not work and the coating on these are also extra thick, to help keep the fins of the fish from penetrating the glove if you accidently get stuck.

Didn't know they were that different.
I do fish. Have been for 40 some years. Just never needed to actually wear "fishing gloves" to handle a fish. I mainly fish for largemouth, smallies, trout, walleye, pickerel, and panfish and you don't need gloves to handle them. Not even for the channel cats I catch occasionally. If I did wear them, my friends would boot me out of the boat!!
