I have an insulated garage so this might be useful if i want to work in there. Since I have an EV as well, and this is 6-30P plug, I'd need to add this 6-30R to 14-50P adapter to connect it.

Correct. Yet the ones that overheated and caused fires are from this model. Look at the pictures. Far too high amount of them than the standard acceptable lemons per thousands of reviews.

If you look further, the main causes of failure is the fan motor. That burns out while the heating element continues. It's just a cheap out the door Chinese product.
