I assume it's like the Milwaukee (looks identical) and the answer is no. I thought it would be useful but honestly I've only used it once or twice. It would be good for a tight area but I haven't been in that situation yet. I prefer my stubby M12 impact.

Good for tight spaces like brake caliper bolts. Not much space for a regular size impact.

I second this- I was very excited about the kobalt version of this. After owning it for three years I can count the number of times it has been useful on one hand.

Ostensibly these are very appealing- in most real world cases they just don't align with many situations where a quality ratchet wouldn't be easier.

One exception - pulley bolts on an in-car engine- hard to remove with a ratchet if you don't lock the pulley position but easy for an impact to remove.

Snagged one. I needed something like this for a trans swap and then for a timing belt job, where my impact was just too wide for some spaces. Better have it and don't need it than need it and don't have it.

This version is a half inch drive, better for a mechanic's impact than the Milwaukee 3/8' drive. Thie Ridgid is brushless which is also a plus. The Ridgid is quite a bit more powerful than it's competitors as shown on Torque Test Channel.
As another poster mentioned, I don't expect to use this for much. If it muscles off pulley bolts without leaving chunks of my knuckles behind in the engine bay then that activity alone makes it worth the sale price, especially for those of us who are in Ridgid battery powered tools already.

Bought it b/c it fits the awkward bolts in my wheel well without removing the tires/rims. It allows me to remove suspension and brake parts without donating blood and skin. I'll use it maybe 2 times a year, but it's infinitely better than trying to turn the 3.5" bolt on my end links with a ratchet and two swivel adapters.

I need to have my arm outstretched in a tight space to install some self tapping screws into a heavy duty aluminum aquarium stand. Would an electric ratchet/wrench be enough or would you recommend something like this right angle impact?
