I've been waiting for the 3/8 and 1/2 ratchet combo to come back in stock for ~180. This being an impact seems pretty favorable.

I already have the octane 1/2 impact, anyone able to provide some insight between the use of the impact vs non-impact? I'm assuming it's a weight/speed preference. 250ft lbs is about the same as my 3/8 subcompact impact if I recall.

With the ratchet youll have to manually break lose the nuts/bolts first as they don't have very much torque. With the impact wrench you'll get the ugga duggas so that'll break it for you. Haven't seen the rigid ratchets but impact wrenchs generally are going to be bigger than the ratchets

nvm my earlier response, misread your post to mean you already had an impact wrench.

yes you will get much more torque and very little strain on your wrist with an impacting tool.

i've also been watching for a deal on the ratchet(s). Based on this, seems getting the impact is going to be a smarter bet? Amateur car DIYer taking things apart and putting back together :-)
