Guys, this is not a style website, but a bargains one. No one is asking for style selection advise. Is this a SD deal offering a solid discount or not is the only question. It seems if the color is fine for SDer, the deal is solid, without much CB options because it is REI. It seems it matches the prior SD deals. That's all. If you cannot contribute to the bargain discourse there is no need to voice a styling unsolicited opinion.
Silliness? It's a 13 ounce jacket that can keep me warm pretty much all winter in the midwest and is very durable. It's nice not to wear huge bulky coats.
I live in WI. It is nice to have a warm jacket that isn't crazy bulky.

XS, M, and L sold out now; I ordered mine last week and got it last night. I can confirm:
1) the elastic cuffs are a bit loose so air can leak in
2) the 800 fill is nice and toasty
3) the material and build quality is top-notch yet plush/soft
I have a variety of natural down (Patagonia Ultralight, Arc'teryx, The North Face) and synthetic fill (Patagonia Micro Puff Hoodie, Patagonia Nano Puff Hybrid) coats and this one is right up there in both quality and warmth!
Patagonia is QUALITY.
I would put it above North Face and Columbia and definitely about Eddie Bauer.
It's on par with Arc'teryx and Canada Goose which I consider very high quality, maybe better than Patagonia.
Patagonia is lifetime warranty I believe and they are serious about it last time I checked.
EDIT: Ended up pulling the trigger. Been needed a warm jacket and gonna take the chance the red is darker, like a previous poster stated. Gonna try being bolder in 2024, and red is bold baby
Bought one for me and my husband when this deal first posted and it's been two weeks and we are still in love with them. The fit is comfortable, light, and warm, and perfect for the season. Compared to other brands we own like North Face and Columbia, this jacket is much better in terms of quality and build. Highly recommend. It also doesn't hurt that I like the red it comes in lol
How is it that these ""high quality "" brands Patagonia , North Face , Columbia , Arcteryx etc are USA CAN brands BUT all all made in China with super cheap labour , all the materials aren't in America. It China , they put it together and put in a giant ship spewing diesel fuel for 3 months going around the world to deliver it to USA - and all of these companies keep talking about how much they care about the environment- all lies. It's all about profit. Let's be honest.
I've used it for two days now but the feather seems to be leaking
This is typical right off the bat, and Patagonia tells us this if you email them. If after a month ish it still leaks feathers profusely, contact them.
