No. Existing bookings count for Hyatt promotions. Southwest is the only organization I know that requires booking after registering.

you can find a night for 3500 on occasion at the lowest of lowest cat 1 hyatts during the most off of off peak.

Actually, i was looking and many obvious cat1s like House and Places are 3500, but even some Regencys have 3500 nights to my surprise.

Looking internationally, there are several Alilia level Hyatts in Indonesia for 3500!

Last week I did a redemption booking the Hyatt in Augusta Georgia during the weekend of the Masters Golf Tournament. Rooms are going for $1400 a night cash but 12,000 points. Crazy 11c point redemption!! Hyatt is the best for transferring your chase points for hotels.
