No. Existing bookings count for Hyatt promotions. Southwest is the only organization I know that requires booking after registering.

Curious on the extra 1k for card holders. I have a few points stays at those locations so I might not charge. How would they know?

Sounds like a pretty cool game. Wonder if they have boss raids or fishing?

It's a little confusing but it looks like that list of hotels is for a different part of the promotion:

"Additional 1,000 Bonus Point Offer for World of Hyatt Consumer and Business Credit Cardmembers: World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers will receive 1,000 additional Bonus Points for every 3 Eligible Nights completed after registration and during the Promotion Period at participating hotels in 15 destinations only—Australia, Germany, Greater China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and Vietnam. For a list of hotels participating in the World of Hyatt Consumer and Business Credit Cardmember Bonus offer, please click here. A maximum of 7,000 Bonus Points may be earned under this World of Hyatt Consumer and Business Credit Cardmember Bonus offer. Bonus offer is only valid at hotels participating in the promotion at the start of the promotion. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the stated benefits and services. Bonus points will post directly to your World of Hyatt account and will not appear on your credit card statement."

Actually, i was looking and many obvious cat1s like House and Places are 3500, but even some Regencys have 3500 nights to my surprise.

Looking internationally, there are several Alilia level Hyatts in Indonesia for 3500!
Or PH chennai at 5k per night

I'd assume you have to check in, for it to count but not sure entirely. I've never tried it without checking in before

Does Hyatt not have app check in and mobile keys?

I've done several "mattress runs" at Marriotts, mostly to use up free night certs before expiration, or if I am delayed in travel on a reservation I might miss the first night. I check in on the app and add a mobile keycard. The hotel gets their money either way, what do they care that you're not actually physically in the room? In fact I've often thought of a better way to run up nights for status - just approach some hotel and tell them exactly what you want (night credits) and in return you don't even set foot in the room which means they don't have to turn it over at all. They just collect $$ for doing absolutely nothing on a room that would otherwise be vacant. See what kind of deal they could cut you.

5k is the min for one night.

Id say I personally value 3k pts around $60 (2c/pp) but my personal best was at 6c/pp at Andaz Maui. So I guess it can be worth more than $60
3.5k is the absolute minimum.

Poorly. Marriott is 1k/night flat plus 1 extra elite night credit per night (e.g. 2 credits per night). Note that they must be paid and only at participating brands which is basically everywhere in the US.

No limits on the Marriott promo other than it ends at the end of April; I believe the max (based on the promotion period) was 76 nights/76k extra points.
is 1000 pts marriot vs 1000 pts hyatt equivalent? have a biz trip coming up for 4 nights, trying to decide which is better
