This or the RSL Speedwoofer 12S regularly priced @799? Darn you Slickdeals!
Speedwoofer 12s/better customer support. Or if you liked sealed and are on a budget look up strake sw15 they go on sale for $499 . HSU never in stock and SVS isn't bang for buck anymore. Also starke has a ported 15" for $799 but audioholics haven't reviewed it yet.

Gonna add a "don't buy" warning based on my experience... 3+ failures and replacements over a year of owning these, last failure was going to be another mult-month wait for replacements before I convinced them to refund finally.
During that year I had a pair of functional subwoofer for approximately 2 months, and those were not at all matched in terms of functionality.
Just ignore these and buy from a better brand.
I ended up with hsu which have been excellent, 0 issues.
The 12s on 'reference setting', is better from 30hz and down and it even can go down to 10hz (check Joe and tell's youtube review) and remains clean. it has a cleaner sound and better linear output, better musicality, better company imo. (I do own a sub from each company)
So with the reports of technical issues and par customer service, not to mention it takes about 15 seconds to power on and off with the Monolith,
and then with the 12s giving you a very handy remote that can switch modes and control control volume (so you don't have to go through your receiver menu), and the 12s is tax free, making it $800 flat shipped, all things considered, I'd definately recomend the RSL for $65 more. 👍

The 12S is also a little more compact so it may help with placement / positioning.
Lastly, RSL customer service should be much better than Monoprice.

Sooooooooo, +4" and +200watts, does this thing make everyone in the room orgasm when the THX sound kicks in at the beginning of the movie?

The monoprice has more raw power from 30hz to 80hz at peak volumes
