This is an amazing price for this piano. I have the CA48, which is the predecessor. Nice action, nice sound, great piano.

Around me at least, Craigslist is full of nice upright and grand pianos that parents want to unload after their children leave the house, or when an elderly player moves out. They are usually offered for free, as it saves the expense of a piano mover. You'll have to enlist some strong friends if you pick one up, or hire piano movers yourself.

I just would need to get rid of this yamaha upright that we bought when my daughter was taking lessons. I didn't want an acoustic but the teacher "required" an acoustic piano.

Awesome deal. Just got one in December for $1999 after doing a lot of research and not wanting to spend much more than $2k for a digital piano. You'd have to spend close to $3k for anything else comparable. I was super happy when I was able to price match to get $1699. At $1299 this is a ridiculous deal!

Please note that this model does not do bluetooth audio. You can't play your ipad through the speakers and play along with the songs. A lot of learners like this. If you want that you would need at least the ca59 or the newer ca401 model. I found a ca59 online for $2000. I hated paying the extra $700...But this was one of the features I wanted.

Is this one of those pianos that's a real acoustic piano, but has the setting to be used digitally as well with the acoustic sound muted?

Totally clueless here, asking a totally clueless question: Can't you wear buds or phones, or plug in satellite speakers and play along? I've been practicing air guitar for 55+ years. Sounds just like Carlos Santana was playing!

Sounds like your daughter had a sensible teacher.

Taking piano lessons and practicing on a digital is a waste of the teacher's time and the student's money.
It depends. This was a world class teacher who unfortunately pushed very hard for constant constant practice of the same %#($ over and over again to hone competitive pianists. Very successful at that. And my daughter ended up hating it. She even resorted to writing her own compositions to avoid practicing.

When growing up my sister and I had a piano teacher who's first goal was to teach reading and musicianship. My sister ended up being an excellent on the fly short notice accompanist. I had zero clue how to find a teacher like her.

Bought this last time it was on a deal. It has a gorgeous sound, really good action, and the weight of the keys is nice.

Whatever man. Gatekeep much?

My kids are two years in to piano lessons with a local mom, practicing on a $300 digital, absolute bare minimum that had 88 weighted keys. My kids can play songs on the piano, read music, and understand concepts. Money well spent.

I'm willing to bet that at least one of the musicians you enjoy grew up dirt poor and learned on a piece of junk instrument.
