meh, I'm from CT, bought around 7 knockouts about 7-8 years ago, because I was told they were super easy and very resistant to insects and disease. They get just as many insects and disease as any other rose I have. If I knew this then, I would've gotten some David Austen roses instead as they are more fragrant and have more beautiful flowers. If I don't spray them meticulously on a schedule, they get decimated by insects and disease. Rust, Black spot, powdery mildew, you name it. And the aphids will eat the buds before they can open and leave the branches bare of leaves. Japanese beetles too. I don't like spraying because it's bad for the pollinators, but on years that I haven't sprayed, they will bloom once in the spring and then be just be sad dead looking bare twigs for the rest of the season. If I want them to look nice and keep blooming, gotta spray with 3-in-1 pretty much once a week.... then they will bloom 3 times in the season and look great, but I'm pretty sure it's terrible for bee's and the good pollinators. F*** aphids.....

They bloom from spring through fall, and all the colors are very pretty eye candy. They are quite hardy, but if damaged by really severe cold, cutting them back with electric hedge trimmers to about 8" above ground may well revive them after about a month's delay (don't give up on them!) unless the roots were killed. Generally it is best to buy these at a local nursery so that you can pick the best ones, but if you can't get them close by then this is a possible choice. Plant them properly, fertilize regularly, and you will be really pleased by these gorgeous landscape feature roses. Highly recommended indeed!

I live in NJ and it's obviously very cold right now. If I bought some of these now what can I do with them until spring?

Buy these storage bins from Home Depot (or something simiIar). Line them with garbage bags. Add potting soil and muIch to it then pIace them in untiI ready to set outside. Cheers!

Generally a bit overpriced and they don't list important characteristics of their trees like root stock, but I've ordered a few things on heavy discount from them and been happy with the product and shipping speed.

They likely won't ship until planting season for your area. Again, it is always better to buy living plants locally if possible. Good luck with your roses!

Sorry you have had such a bad experience with your Knock Out roses. I wonder if you were sold some "Knock Off" roses instead!

I have had the exact same experience with knockout roses. My non knock out roses have done very well but the aphids did not even allow knockout buds to open two years in a row now.

Yeah they are not bug resistant but I support the bees so no pesticides on my roses

About this same price at your local walmart ($25-30) in TX once the season starts. Comes with a year guarantee but i've never taken advantage of that and frankly doubt walmart knows how to honor it. HD & Lowes do honor their plant guarantees.
I purchased several healthy double knock out roses for $5 to $10 at the end of the season 2023 from Walmart. Planted some and reserved a few to plant in march. So far they've managed the cold freezes quite well.

My guess is two years to a thriving plant.
