Might want to read this before buying....https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/...e%20tongue.

For thise that dont want to read heres the results:
Results
The DeChoker resulted in gross injury to the tongue and failed to remove the obstruction in all trials. LifeVac was successful in removing the barium‐moistened saltines but failed to remove all other foreign bodies. Both devices applied significant pressure to the tongue.

i see people downvoting others, but the above is a medical study on two commonly available choking devices, including the one which this deal is for. seems a bit like snake oil to me as well

Have a medical doctor in the family who told us the actual studies show these are not only ineffective but can cause severe damage to the tongue. You are FAR better off learning and practicing the Heimlich.

Stupid device. If it did anything, EMTs, restaurants, hospitals, police, and schools would carry it but they don't. It's plastic snake oil.

I bought one of these a year ago and I have to admit when I looked at it in person, the first thing I thought was "dang, this thing is going to jab this person's tongue pretty hard."… I get that they are trying to focus the suction into a small area but I'm hesitant to use it honestly….

I have the life vac and for whatever stupid reason wanted to see how it worked. I feel like some of my brain was slightly moved and is now sitting slightly closer to my nasal cavity.

There was a dude in the news that had one of these in his car and saved a child choking in a restaurant. Classic dechocking attempts did nothing and there was a whole bunch of people unable to help til a guy used this. I bought one after watching the video. Doenst have to be first or second line of defense, but why not have a backup option?

Or read this which was a review of reports on using the device on Living people… not a corpse stuffed with saltines.

I bought this on Black Friday for $20 because we have two toddlers learning to eat. My wife and I read the paper instructions, and watched the instructional videos. I placed it above the refrigerator in a box that says, "Dechoker, Do Not Move."
And we hope we never have to use this device as a last resort.
