Seriously instead of taking 5 seconds to read the add you type out and ask a question when it clearly says if it is or not. WoW people are lazy.

Appreciate the searching and scouring for good deals. But I've seen deals with like a 1.5ah battery and charger for $99.

People typically recommend at least a 2ah battery for most tools. When there is a deal, you can find them for around 10/ah (so a 5ah maybe around 50ish or so). But you'll also need a charger since this is tool only.

In my opinion, if you just need a multi tool and you aren't invested in DeWalt, this wouldn't be the best deal. Do you have any other platforms you are invested in currently? If so, I'd look for a multi tool from them. If not, then I'd look at the overall platform for all the tools they offered and make sure that they have everything you think you'd need in the future. You could look at DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid, Ryobi, Kobalt and see if any of those have a deal for you as well

That's a fair comparison. Personally, I would go for the OP's tool-only deal over the kit. A common valuation for a battery is $10/Ah, which would make the kit a wash (at least for those who already have way too many slow chargers). However, personally, I put a zero value on the 1.5Ah batteries since I would never use them over the 1.7Ah Powerstack or a higher-capacity battery. Therefore, the $13 for a 1.5Ah battery and a slow charger doesn't fly for me. Of course, YMMV.

Good deal. What besides battery, case and charger comes in the kit version? Is the quick-change aspect part of the tool only, or is there another piece/part necessary that is part of the kit?

Man ..gotta love these SD friends 👍

I don't own any DeWalt batteries yet. Which one should I pick up for this and what is a good sale price?

Thank you for the detailed response. This is my first dewalt battery powered tool. I mostly have ryobi tools now but I'm not opposed to having multiple ecosystems. Ideally I'd like to pick up a dewalt brad nailer / battery combo that I can utilize with this.

Also, I ordered it last night when the deal was posted so I can't cancel it. I'll have to wait for it to delivery first.

Entirely up to you. Not a huge deal to have multiple platforms, but personally I think the multi tool belongs in the main line up. I'm actually the opposite looking for a Ryobi Brad nailer deal since theirs is much more affordable than dewalt. Im sure there will be some deal that comes up for a good deal on batteries and a charger. Legit Chargers can be had for a song on eBay if you are comfortable with that and check sellers before. I'd just set an alert to DeWalt on slickdeals and some deal will pop up somewhere.

I generally use the 2ah battery for light weight. I use the 5ah or flexvolt battery for long use.

If you don't plan on getting more Dewalt tools then I recommend getting an adapter to the platform where you have the most batteries. You can find adapters on ebaY for generally $17-25. They make the adapters much better than 5-6 years ago when I first got the first one for Milwaukee battery to Ryobi tools where the fit was awful.

Good idea thanks for the tip. That can be a temporary fix so I can get started with the tool. I do plan on getting a few more DeWalt tools so I'll just sit tight for a battery deal or a combo deal.

I would wait for a deal with the kit if you are not in a rush. I got this set with the 1.5ah battery and charger back in late January for $93.50. I've way too many chargers around but I can use the small battery for the Dewalt light.

Thanks I'll see if a deal pops up within the return window.
