It's never worked that way for me. I had to buy the deal in store. Website didn't offer at that price. (this was a Makita deal a while ago.) So, no, I couldn't order two different ways and not pick one up. Thanks for playing.

I had no idea what a USB lithium hackable is. My best guest was that it is a hunk of lithium that can be cut using a USB-powered saw. I see it is a lithium battery.

This is one thing that annoys me, almost all the USB tools come with a battery. I guess Ryobi wants all of our USB tools charged and ready to go? It's not like the cutting tool and engraver are used everyday that they need their own battery.

I was looking at the inflator to carry for my bike, currently it's $24.60 with the hack. Decided to check Direct Tools. Looks like they have the older model (Blemished) of the 18V for only $14.71 (tool only). Not as small as the USB version but with a 2amp battery (and I have lots of these) is not a bad alternative.
