Mine shows orig price of $79 compared to your $99 for the rover.

I'd say try changing store and zip code.

I tried a few zip codes, and it shows $99 in all of them for me.

I prefer the other m12 rover light over this all day..it's 30% less bright but like 60% smaller & can be used as power bank to charge things.

These casts shadows on your work area and negate their purpose. I tried these when working on my cars and no matter the distance or position, it casts your shadow on your work area. I guess it's useful if you have no power and just need light. I now just use a headlamp and two "light n carry" LNC1541

Why? I got the MILWAUKEE M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 220-Lumen LED Stick Light for $34 and I canceled on homedepot.com chat so I don't need to take a second trip to the store to return battery. $34 for a 5 year warranty light seems decent to me. $66.22 for the one pictured above appears decent?

Same. the smaller rover is just perfect. the brightness is enough for many things I do. If this had a 2.0 battery included for $99 I would've got it. 1.5bat is useless.

I'm an apartment maintenance tech, and I have both.
I like the larger one for the spring-tension grippy legs at the bottom and the magnet is strong. The trick to the large one is that it's good for overhead lighting, like if you're working in an HVAC closet you can use the legs on the top of the open closet door. then you avoid the shadows. all that said, not slick at this price.

the smaller one is newer to me, and definitely more portable. it lasts longer because it's a lower lumen output, but it's a non-issue if you can get the light physically closer to the work, like when working on a vehicle or in a small area for plumbing.
