The extremely rare case that actually has "drive bays" which are essential for storage docks, controls, card readers, hubs, etc. Gamerz ruined this space by fantasizing that anybody cares how their computer looks.

Disagree very much. When you're pushing limits for bandwidth via Gen. 2 at 10Gbps, nothing should get in the way of a USB-C to USB-C connection.

I still think this is the best value case you can get because of the expansion bays that almost nobody else includes, but because of people like you, manufacturers listen - always looking for an excuse not to update old tech.

Am I reading correctly that this case does not have USB C outlet?
Earliest review of this case is from June of 2017 on Newegg, so a lack of USB-C is not surprising.

Yeah when shipping is 34% of the sale price, it's not a deal.

I've been using the same Corsair Carbide 330R for the past 10 years for this very reason. I've gotta have drive bays, and I don't need the stupid clear panel on the side. IEspecially with all the fans in a modern system, I'd rather have extra sound insulation inside the case than a see-through window. I guess I'm just old and IDGAF about LED lighting any more.

I bought a Fractal 2 years ago like this one and love it. Very easy to work in, very user friendly, and customizable, good metal and glass, everything fit like it was supposed to.
Don't be fooled by the name into thinking this is a high-end case. It's not on the same level with their higher priced models. It's good but consummate with the price, not like their Define series or anything comparable (I have this and a Define).

For USB-C, you can always add a header cable for the back of the case or find a 5.25 drive bay usb port hub.

I've used this case before, it's very flimsy, the metal warps easily, it's terrible to install an AIO in, and there is absolutely no way to cable manage. The clearance between the side panel and the motherboard tray gives virtually no room for cable management. It's an absolute nightmare to build in. Fractal may make some nice cases, but this is definitely not one of them.

Or, maybe, gamers have evolved beyond the need for "drive bays" as they are mostly non-essential and in most circumstances, extremely obsolete.

What has probably "ruined this space" is that most people have moved beyond it and adapted rendering this space useless except for a small few.

Ahh I miss these traditional cases with the 5.25" drive bays. Hell, I held on to my trusty Antec P100 for as long as I could for that reason in addition to all the innovation in there. I really hate all the minimalistic cases nowadays with slots for like 12 fans. Nice functional case! Can never go wrong with Fractal.
