So the bundle w/ the motherboard and RAM is only $86 more at microcenter? Damn, it makes it even more tempting now.

Microcenter not really price mistake..they have up to 20%below market flexibility on pricing, especially if they can sell other components with cpu. What they cant do is long term undersell the likes of Amazon which OWNS retail

The reason I say it was a pricing mistake was that people were reporting that their order reservations at Microcenter were being no-notice cancelled at the $300 price and were told it was a higher price. I know some people were luckily enough to get it, but it definitely comes across as an error.

Idk, microcenter has a mixed history.. when i was putting together a system with over $900 in parts many years ago they outright REFUSED to price match newegg and blew up the deal for $50... now the $25 to $50 in discounts over Amazon arent even worth a trip to the store.

This is NOT TRUE. Microcenter did sell 7800x3d $300 over a 2 day period in November. I placed an online order immediately at microcenter (not even ordering at best buy) at that time and picked it up at the store the next day AT $300 plus tax. MICROCENTER never said a thing about pricing error in person. but i agree dont expect microcenter to sell at $300 anytime soon

Micro Center allows returns for parts from their combo. If you just need the CPU, return the other parts to Micro Center. After the refund, the CPU is $243.77 before tax! None of this violates any policies to my knowledge making it currently cheaper than $300! (I am seeing some stuff online where people are mentioning that this is based on the local Micro Center near you. YMMV)

Yeah I heard about returning parts of the combo. But it might be store by store. I heard some MC stores wont allow returning parts but rather the entire combo. If you could do it, good for u. 7800x3d is a beast cpu. I like it a lot

I hate to be the party pooper but doing things like this ruins things. Enough ppl do this and eventually combo deals go the wayside. I don't mind ppl getting the best deals for them but abusing certain things brings drastic changes.
