I knew I had seen it cheaper! Still a very nice machine if you're not gaming or only playing casual games. I had one briefly last summer (not from the deal you mentioned) and it's a well-made laptop with a quality screen. Ran hotter with shorter battery than I was expecting just during regular office-type work, which is why I didn't keep it.

Was it a certified refurb & was it pretty well indistinguishable from brand spanking new?
I am typing this on $474 deal refurb.(couldn't resist impulse buy) and it was like new condition. It replaced working refurb Y70 touch.
And all my past Lenovo laptops was refurb and they are all still working.

I'm not the one you were asking, but I'm guessing you're trying to get a feel for what condition 'certified refurbished' really means. In the long past, Lenovo certified refurbs direct from Lenovo always looked brand new. However, in the past 6 months, I got a Lenovo certified refurbished laptop purchased direct from Lenovo that arrived with visible dirt streaks and even hair stuck in the keyboard. Unfortunately, Lenovo customer service was not helpful as they didn't count it as 'defective.' It's certainly made me question whether to continue buying Lenovo certified refurbs.

Yes, indeed. Thank you, and now I know I won't be buying a Lenovo refurb.
