Just wanted to chime in on the concerns with DRAM error based on the reviews of this motherboard. I picked up the bundle and installed the cl32 ram that came in it. Booted up using an existing m.2 drive with windows 11 on it. No DRAM error. But did get prompted that a new Cpu is installed and that ftpm is corrupted. I just hit Y to get it reset. I then had to re setup my windows login PIN.

I also activated the XMP profile in the BIOS and it got updated and recognized by windows correctly as 6000Mhz. So far system is stable with my 4090 after testing with a few games. Going to continue testing and report back if I run into any issues.

WOW, slick build:

- I bought the Non-v2 CL36 version of this bundle on 01/26.
- Exchanged for this newer v2 CL32 version of the bundle on Superbowl Sunday.
- Now I get to invoke price protection to save $50. I also noticed that my 2TB SK Hynix Platinum is $10 cheaper now too!

Does anyone know if Price Protection can be done via Live Chat, or do I have to go to the store?

Be aware, for those trying to do the second bullet point above, you will have to request callback from microsoft to re-activate Windows depending on the history of your product key. Didn't take long actually once you find the correct link, which is here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus

I have same specs as you except a 3060 ti. Every time I'm tempted by a deal like this I think how much did I actually get time to myself to enjoy sitting and gaming on my computer… and realize it doesn't really happen so why spend money on an upgrade I won't appreciate.
I agree i am not sure i need this

Compared to previous iterations this bundle also has the better gigabyte motherboard (which supports a gen5 ssd)
According to these links here [gigabyte.com]and here [gigabyte.com], the non-v2 rev1.5 and v2 support PCIe 5.0 for Ryzen 7000.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between these two seemingly identical motherboards is the Wireless modules for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I seem to recall the non-v2 came with a dongle+antennas, where as the v2 came with just two antennas, meaning the hardware that was previously on the dongle is now on the motherboard.

I'm getting one in Miami, which is almost as close as the GA locations

4.5 hrs vs 6.5 hrs lololo

All I wanted was a Tampa location
I live in Tampa and I would be overjoyed if we got one here. It's also a nice location that's quite equidistant from everywhere. I want to justify that drive, but the gas money essentially negates the savings you get from MC.

I specifically mention the motherboard in this bundle having a gen5 m.2 slot, and link both the specifications page and the manual in my post. Previous iterations of the microcenter 7800x3d bundle had the msi b650-p motherboard (which has no pcie gen5 support), and the non-v2 version of the gigabyte motherboard in this bundle (I saw someone mention they got revision 1.3 in the previous microcenter bundle). Hence why in my post I said this bundle "has the better gigabyte motherboard".

where do you guys see that deal is until 2/14? I never can find any dates on any Microcenter discounts... can any one show me the way, pls?
The carousel banner on the microcenter homepage advertises an "extra $50 off amd bundles!", with "2/12 - 2/14" displayed in a different font beneath said text. It's the second image in the banner rotation.

This 2.9 star rating on the motherboard at MC is really bothering me. Surely the board cannot be that bad?

seriously, I'm currently gaming at 4k dlss performance mode all the time, and realizing the cpu will be a significant improvement with the dlss being at a 1080p pre render

everyone has different complaints, others are 5star. definitely some users issues
amazon has a 4.0 rating but all the complaints seem to be about open box purchases, or bluetooth, again user errors for the most part, some geeks hate to blame themselves.

Also this motherboard has the best ram timings and general performance when compared to other boards, atleast in it's price range

the V2 version is just 8000 series ready as far as I can tell

Yes. If you look at their motherboard selection some will tell you which one's get a discount when paired with certain processors. I got the I7-14700K bundle with faster RGB memory and a better motherboard that way. Only cost me $17 more total.
Can you link or note down the items in that bundle?

Yeah reviews are sparse, but this nightmare story and some comments echoing it on reddit scared me a bit too. Mostly because I wont do the build right away and MC is pretty far from me too.

Reddit story on the last bundle with CL36 RAM, same board and processor though.

Motherboard revisions are for hardware changes not software/firmware. Means something on this board is physically different than V1. Support for a newer CPU would be a software/firmware update.
