Yeah reviews are sparse, but this nightmare story and some comments echoing it on reddit scared me a bit too. Mostly because I wont do the build right away and MC is pretty far from me too.

Reddit story on the last bundle with CL36 RAM, same board and processor though.

ya, I expect to see some of that, 500 guys happy, a couple people can't post and do a reddit. don't blame ya if it's a drive though, I'm 3 miles away
I pretty much expect posting issues with motherboards initially. the last 5 builds I did, I had to play the ram stick game, you end up with 1 stick on the far right taking it in and out, coming back to it, then it works, wrestle with the second one a couple times, poof works, and then you forget it ever happened. there's a new bios that just dropped a week ago and it has Qflash, no need for bios entry to flash. it might have something to do with the faster timings or the '8000 series ready bios', but I like gigabyte, really could tuning results in my experience. if there is an issue it'll get flushed out, I've had better luck with them then msi any way

Motherboard revisions are for hardware changes not software/firmware. Means something on this board is physically different than V1. Support for a newer CPU would be a software/firmware update.
ya that's what I was thought, usually a vrm change or something but the webpages on the gigabyte site are identical as far as I could tell
looking at them right now

Yeah you can usually not tell whatsoever otherwise would be a different model. Having said that, someone mentioned a different WiFi dongle right here in this discussion thread.

But basically, stating you are getting a better motherboard because of a board revision number is not a correct statement although it could be true in a way. It's the same board technically. It just means they changed something on their side in production which means they don't sell the older revision anymore but note the difference with revisions for firmware and other support purposes.

Just wanted to chime in on the concerns with DRAM error based on the reviews of this motherboard. I picked up the bundle and installed the cl32 ram that came in it. Booted up using an existing m.2 drive with windows 11 on it. No DRAM error. But did get prompted that a new Cpu is installed and that ftpm is corrupted. I just hit Y to get it reset. I then had to re setup my windows login PIN.

I also activated the XMP profile in the BIOS and it got updated and recognized by windows correctly as 6000Mhz. So far system is stable with my 4090 after testing with a few games. Going to continue testing and report back if I run into any issues.
I want to add that I ended up reinstalling Windows entirely. I was noticing the 4090 was getting low 90% utilization in Cyberpunk at 4k with path tracing. For this scenario, it should 100% have been GPU bound but that's not the case. So I decided to do a clean re-install of Windows and that resolved the issue. FPS in Cyberpunk is much more stable now and GPU is getting 97%+ utilization.

For context, I was coming from 9900k, so I was suspecting there was some driver in Windows that was clashing with my old CPU. Just FYI. I suspect if you are coming from an AMD chipset to this, it shouldn't require a Windows reinstall.

I just wanted to say I picked the prior version of this bundle up back in November with the MSI board and slower RAM, and it's been a beast for me. Love it. This looks even better.

Can you link or note down the items in that bundle?
Here you go. Good thing was the Bios was already on the one for the 14th gen chips so I was just able to plug and play with the motherboard. I got this with a Acer A770 16gb and this thing is a beast. Was able to play Forza Motorsports and Ori and the Will of the Wisp on higher visual settings on my 60 htz 4K monitor at around 60 fps with hdr on. I'm not a gamer so that's good enough for me.

The Micro Center price protection policy sucks. I bought this combo last month at the $499.99 price and tried to get the price adjustment at the Mayfield Heights, Ohio store today. At first the manager tried to do it but the system wouldn't let him. Then he realized that the RAM was different so he had to override that. The system still wouldn't let him do the price adjustment. After some messing around, he found out that the current combo is using the V2 motherboard and I had the V1.5 motherboard. He refused to do the adjustment because this was a "different" combo; the parts had to be exactly the same. I think that this a bogus policy since it was a minor difference in the motherboard and the RAM; everything was basically the same. I wasted an half hour in the store and a one hour round trip for nothing.

All stores are like that. If it's a different product why would they give you the difference??? You trying to get that man fired or something?
