Just buy V11 vacuum on eBay without any attachments then buy a stick separately and also get v15 Laser head separately which compatible with V11. My total for everything was $230. Laser head feature is a game changer. V11 vacuum was $110 and v15 head was $90. Amazing value

Links are always great, but I did a quick search on Ebay and what they wrote, checked out. Definitely going to try this. Didn't find the Fluffy Optic head for $90, only the older Laser Slim Detect (or something). The Fluffy Optic is the newer head, but is only $130 new. It has a better laser.

I purchased a Dyson HP01 fan/heater during one of these last sales that also came with the 2 year Allstate warranty. 3-4 months later, we discover the heating function shuts itself off after 2 minutes, so their refurb effort was a bust. I put in for a warranty repair, they have me send it to their repair site in NY (finding a box for it was annoying but the rest of it was paid for). They declare it unfixable and cut me a check for the purchase price. That's great service and what you should expect from a 3rd party warranty product.

Contrast that with several years ago when I purchased a Dyson V10 Absolute that came only with Dyson's shit refurb 6-month warranty. At 8 months the battery died. I asked if they could assist in any way and... NO, basically go pound sand. Never again. Don't buy any Dyson refurb that doesn't come with the extended warranty.

Do you find the V6 just as strong as the v11? That's mainly why I'm buying a "newer" version for the strength. Otherwise, I agree with your approach of just buying backup batteries. Do you get them on Amazon/eBay or directly from Dyson?
I have the V6 Absolute and the V11. The V11 has more power, but most of the time it doesn't matter. The big difference is that the V11 adjusts its power, but really I've not once had an issue with the power on the V6. I bought the extra battery third party on Amazon. The only thing I genuinely like better about the V11 is that it holds more dirt. My V6 is much more convenient to use. Lighter weight and quicker to empty.

The Dyson V12 detect slim has a push button, no trigger. It does have a smaller waste container, but the button makes up for that. It's also very light and maneuverable and came with the laser head. I love mine.
While waiting for the V12 to be on sale, maybe these trigger lock can help for whatever model you are having now.

How much did you end up paying for the 75+ I've heard with coupons + sale it can be a pretty good deal.
I bought ours on EBay for $260 new (+tax) and opted in for a couple year extended warranty for an extra $20
If refurb isn't a big deal for you, they run ~200

I was reading another thread where people were claiming they got them new after sales/discounts under $250. Curious how it stacks up vs the v11 looks like similar air watts

I don't know how I lived without my V11... had it 4 years now and I'm still amazed at how much it picks up. Expensive, yes but few products have impressed me as much as this Dyson, regardless of price point. So It's a must have, and if you have pets and/or kids, maybe life changing.

Before I go here are a couple tips for anyone new. There is a washable filter cap on the top, make sure and check/wash it as needed... be sure to let it completely dry! Using a damp filter will damage and overheat the motor... might even burn it out.

I personally bought a second filter so I can just wash one and swap in the clean/dry one at the same time.

Finally, it probably goes without saying but there's some things you shouldn't try to vacuum with this... like drywall dust, or anything super fine like that. It clogs up the vacuum and is a big hassle to clean... besides that's what shop-vacs are made for!

I'd be genuinely curious how a name brand Dyson compares to something like a Laresar V both in initial performance and long term durability

In case this wasn't stated, the v11 Animal has the basic LED back panel whereas the v11 open box has the nice LCD screen that tells you how much run time left amongst other things. The v11 Animal and Torque are discontinued. The current models are the v11 (has nice LCD screen) and v11 Extra (has more attachments BUT has the basic LED back panel).

Just a few things I learned while doing some research. If you want a v11 with LCD display get the open box one. Limited quantities.

The v11 vacuum you got for 110, that was with or without a battery? The stick ended up being 30? I know you got a lot of quote replies with this comment so sorry for another.

I'm stuck in paralysis by analysis. I have a 3 year old Jashen that is starting to fall apart a little. My wife's main vacuum is the Cinetic Big Ball that she loves. I like having a cordless stick for quick cleanups. I fell like the open box V11 checks all the boxes but not sure if it's worth $100 more than the refurb LG A9(with mini beater and 2 batteries). We have 2 very hairy cats. Any thoughts from the wise Vacuphiles on SD?

I got the 11 open box vacuum.. I chose that one because the golden retriever dog hair is killing my current shark cordless with hair wrapping tightly around the ends of the roller and no clear way of getting that roller off without special tools (yes I ordered some tools and will try to save it but...) The 11 claims to handle long hair well. We shall see.

Now I have to deny delivery for the refurbed 11 from Walmart that I ordered just minutes before ordering this one Stick Out Tongue
