A few weeks ago they had this paired with various tool options for $200, they attributed this as $113 of the cost when I paired with the reciprocating saw.

No, it's not. XGT is bigger and heavier and the number of available tools is significantly less than LXT. Even the small batteries are nearly the weight of the 5AH LXT. If you have the use case and need more powerful/longer running tools, go for it. But the LXT system is a different product line. In fact, Makita also makes the 2xLXT 36v line tools for people that just have the LXT system so people don't need to deal with multiple battery lines, but can get most of the advantage of XGT.

Enticing but not sure if JB tools is an authorized makita dealer. Should have pulled the trigger on the previous deal. Hopefully itcomes back up again in the future.

If you don't need the batteries now, I would say wait for the HD tool deals. They come around pretty often.

That said, if you stick with just one or two lines of cordless tools, you'll often end up with more batteries than you need (coming from someone sitting on twelve 5.0 Makita batteries...)
