Some of you guys seem confused on the Powerstack batteries reason for being.

The advantage is that these batteries give your tools the Torque of a battery 2x it's size.

The battery also accepts 2x the charging cycles.

Also a contractor here. I love the 2ah 20v batteries in my drills and impact guns because the weight difference makes a big difference imo. I still prefer the bigger batteries in my saws (but I have switched to flexvolt for sawzall and circ saw). To each their own I guess.

I didn't know they weren't an authorized reseller of Dewalt. Luckily all my purchases from them have been on Amazon and shipped by Amazon. I haven't had any issues with them though, and I found this on their site (not saying I trust them, just found this interesting - cavet emptor)

Saying nothing about the seller, there are situations where you want smaller batteries, and smaller batteries are necessarily going to cost more per Ah. for example, Amazon is selling (roughly speaking) 5ah for $14/Ah, 2ah for $19; 5ah powerstack for $21, 1.5ah for $31, etc. Powerstack seems to have a premium. I know if I were using a drill for sinking screws all day I wouldn't want a 6ah on the bottom - the battery would last all day but my arm wouldn't. a 6ah battery is about 3x the weight of a 1.5ah.

You don't need an oil resistant battery for that. Even if you did, it is cheaper on eBay if you are going to buy from unauthorized dealers

As a contractor that uses cordless tools all day when on the job site, I have no place for a 20v 1.7ah battery. Yes, I do sometimes use 6 ah and 8ah batteries all day on a drill. I even use 9 ah batteries all day on a saw, it's just not in constant use. I don't want to ever use less than a 3 ah on my construction site tools. If I'm doing something that needs a smaller profile, I switch over to 12v tools. I don't understand the hype with these powerstack batteries. The premium upcharge for these is not justified for me. An amp hour is an amp hour and the 2ah standard 20v battery just makes me mad. LOL I sometimes had those in a kit in the past and after use I was like, what's the point!

Got a couple of these for 49 in August. As far as JB Tools not being authorized. Anything I've bought from them has been genuine. Maybe it won't be under warranty, but some of their deals are closer to Facebook marketplace prices. Not sure what these go for now, but last year they were well over 100. The oil resistant batteries are pretty high compared to standard batteries. They live on my impacts and are great for that use. I've yet to empty one in a single day.

I tried one on a reciprocating saw, it lasted a minute or two. It cut just like there was a big battery on it until it stopped, but those need a 5ah or larger to get anything done.

I just checked prices and these still sell for 140+ from authorized dealers. So if you want some, jump on this deal.

This for me as well. 2 amp is my goto paired to a DCF850 compact impact and the Dewalt router for portability and weight. 5amp and above is for everything else.

This is a KILLER deal on my favorite dewalt battery… and I have them all. I bought these same batteries last time for around the same price and absolutely LOVE THEM any time I'm doing "random" handyman style work (not building but simply installing something that requires a few cuts or random drilling and screwing). Also, this is the preferred battery for the ratchet- anything else is too bulky.

If you use the right battery for the right task I'm confident you'll also find that these are incredible.

The new 1.7ah Powerstack gives the tool the same torque power as a 5ah brick battery until it runs out.

The batteries you are referencing slowly start to loose power then die. You get sort of a "warning" I'm about to run out of juice.

The new Powerstack is full power until depleted. No "warning".
