I will admit I've bought USB outlets (the ones still installed all now have USB nightlights 🤣) So learn from my mistake and just get a wall wart that will live there (and one of those tiny 6-12" extension cord if you want to use the outlet for anything else.) It'll keep you happy longer and make upgrading in the future a lot easier.

If I were to give one tip for anyone who would get these and install them. You really need to make sure you have the right wall box in the wall for these. You need a big and deep box for these which means probably replacing the one you have now.
If you happen to be able to fit this into a standard box by jamming it in and mashing it down and screwing it in - you're really creating a hazzard as these can produce a ton of heat (inside your wall.)
A couple of dollars more for a good brand with USBC PD.

Except Anker is a good brand, and there's still lots of devices that use USB-A. Good thing they make cables for that sort of thing.

That would be lovely but 95% of the cables in the house still come with USB-A on one end. This covers both if needed, most of the existing outlets I have are only USB-A. Just hoping these don't run too hot and are not too large to replace the existing outlets.

Reminds me when people say things like, nobody writes on paper, it's 2024! 🙄

You missed the point, its not replacing USB A with C it's adding USB in the first place 🤦
For the question "I'm replacing my AC outlets with AC+DC ones, which standard is the most future proof right now ?" I would point anyone to USB C with PD.
I don't know why anyone would go through the hassle of installing these. Seems like chargers advance every year. With this you're stuck with what is currently old technology. I have multiple AC adapters that do 60W and one that does 100W. Why would I want this?
Edit: Ironically my chargers are also made by Anker.

I'm using this one. It's terrible quality. If you use 2 usb c ports at the same time for a while, it will automatically disconnected 1, sometime it won't work at all. My suggestion is buy a normal outlet and buy an adapter 2 ports instead.
