While Emirates is clearly a step above, calling Qatar the same as United is a joke. United is the absolute worst long haul international flight bar none. Qatar is still much better service, food etc and the fares arent going to be more than United.

Even just to rebook a delayed connection takes hours.
Avoid Turkish. At least United has human beings working there.
