It will not work for that application, I tried it myself. You can power your network devices off, but not back on since your network is down.

This power strip supports schedules and timers, but it's unable to know the time without being connected to a network so you probably want something more like this device https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07MCRQPCS

I actually have one of those Keep Connect devices out on some remote land I own, and it can power cycle the T-Mobile 5g modem if the wifi drops and it's been reliable for the past couple of years I've had it.

Good deal. I have one of these in my Entertainment center (and the 3-outlet version in my bedroom TV setup--I wish I had just bought another one of these, but it was the better deal at the time). I also have a bunch of the single-outlet smart plugs in the rest of the house, and everything works with Sense energy monitoring that we got installed when we tried to go solar (the company we hired couldn't figure out how to work with our type of roof, but they left the Sense monitor installed).

Anyway, great product especially for energy monitoring but also for automation.

I couldn't get that code to work unfortunately. Is it contingent on something else being added to the order?

No, I just ordered this alone. I guess it's ymmv - the SMARTSAVINGS coupon was displayed below the 50% coupon in the product description page for me.

I could see that being an issue if you want to power cycle a combo firewall/router/wireless access point, but there are other endpoint devices on a network, like switches for example, that can be power cycled without losing wireless and internet connectivity. I've also used smart plugs to power cycle smart home hubs.

Depends what kind of networking stuff is being controlled, and how.. These have 6 independently-controlled outlets, so you could have separate router, switch(es), AP(s) all on their own outlets.. but yeah if you're just using a simple router with integrated wifi, what you say is true.

I'm not a big fan of "IoT", but these kind of devices are handy to have.. I use a similar one for my 3d printer setup and have my Pi print server & 3d printer itself on independently controlled outlets for similar 'selective powering' usage.

I got one of these for a rental property last week. It seems to work well. Hopefully I never have to drive over to reset the router ever again.

I had a router I needed to reset every once in a while. I thought that was the natural way of routers. My co worker told me that router component is the reason why and advise me to buy a 200$ router (nighthawk)and stay away from 30$ one as their component are likely cheap. I bought a nighthawk and very rarely have to power cycle my router.

True , learned the hard way by accidently turning off an outlet via google home app.
