"240" is using quantity 2 of 120mm fans, "280" is using quantity 2 of 140mm fans.

The radiator area of the 280 is 36% larger than the 240. Also 140mm fans are generally more efficient than 120mm fans.

If you keep RPM the same between 120 and 140 fans, then the 140 will move more air at the same RPM.

If you keep air flow the same between 120 and 140 fans, then the 140 will run at a lower RPM and essentially quieter for the same airflow.

Just look up the dimensions for these units since Arctic uses a much thicker radiator and you need to also factor in the thickness of the fans. A 280 is wider than a 240, make sure your case, mobo, and ram configuration can handle the 280 in the top or front of the case.

The 240 model is like $81 after clipping a 23% coupon. Not as good of deal but may fit people's cases better.

I've had the 240 for a few years and it's been flawless.

I was the same and don't want a bunch of light on my PC. I just keep them turned off.

One benefit the RGB fans over the non-RGB is the actual fan blade design. There are some good youtube videos showing the RGB is quieter than non-RGB. It's assumed due to the fan blades themselves being connected to eachother with an "outer ring".

Have run a 360 model for 1 year now and absolutely love it. The fans are just as quiet as my Noctua fans in it.

Sorry if this is blatantly apparent, but will this work for older and socket types as well? Or just the listed intel one?

Just don't connect the wire to the motherboard that turns the lights on. It's separate from the power wire for the fans and pump.

Fyi, artic radiator is 38MM thick. Not the standard 35MM. Didnt fit in my build cause of that extra 3MM to clear my gpu in a Fractal Meshify C.

How does this compare to Thermalright's value leaders in the Phantom/Frost Spirit? Those are half the price of this AIO even after the discount. I can't find many direct comparisons online. While I would assume this 280 AIO is better out-right, my question is "are they twice the price better"? If the delta is 3-4C all else being equal, then probably not.
