I got this a few months back on the previous deal. Replaced my older Focusrite 2i2. Love the additional pair of outputs and built in MIDI ports. Sounds great and I haven't had any issues with audio quality or any glitching at all. Mine also came with Two Notes Wall of Sound software and I've used that WAY more than I anticipated. Overall I highly recommend this interface.

I have a gen3 2i2. It sounds like this is comparable but is it actually better? I do like the option for midi control although, practically, that's not the greatest point of appeal to me.

It's very similar honestly. I wouldn't have bought the sterling if I wasn't looking for midi ports (I had an older 1st or 2nd gen 2i2). I have experimented with using the additional pair of outputs for reamping as well which is kinda cool. I've been happy with it and I do like having the huge volume button that you can mute instantly by pressing down on it. Pretty sure there wasn't a mute function on the 2i2 which meant having to turn the knob down to mute. The pad and low cut is nice too.
Steinberg's UR interfaces "can switch to Class Compliant (CC) mode* when connected to an iOS device, providing an effortlessly intuitive, ultra-portable production experience"
No such claim on the Sterling Audio site or manual for this H224 interface- so iOS looks like a 'no-go'. Seems odd for a compact interface today.

Yeah I never even thought about trying to connect to an iOS device. Is that something people do often? GarageBand I guess? Mine works great through my MacBook though.

I *nearly* pulled the trigger on the bundle deal (that includes headphones, mics, xlr cables) last night but had enough self-control not to lol. If I didn't already have the Focusrite, I for sure would have already had my order in by now. As it stands, I don't think there's enough to justify me buying another usb audio interface lol.
