Because enterprise generally will last a LOT longer, even used. They are designed to work in data centers where they are always running. Those of us who run arrays dont have them spinning 24/7. They are powered down into a low-power state, when not in use. If a file is accessed, it spins up, 5-10 minutes later it spins down to idle again. I still have used enterprise drives of 2TB I bought on ebay for $25-35 each 10-12 years ago still going without a single failure, lol.

Does anyone have any experience with the 10TB or the 12TB linked above? Any issues with them? Did you have any fail?
One thing to keep in mind is that these are LOUD drives. I'm talking "I don't want to be in the same room as them" loud, so something to keep in mind depending on where your NAS is located.
