data center drives are insanely loud and vibrates like crazy. not for your regular desktop use lol put em in nas or osmething and far away from anywhere you can hear.

I grabbed 6 of these for around the same price last month. Packaged reasonably well, all showed up in working condition. Would recommend.

Also, for anyone not sure about refurbished. These are enterprise drives with 2.5 MILLION hours MTBF. So even if they were used in an enterprise server for 5 years, that's like 1.7% of their expected life. And since they are factory refurbished these go through significantly more testing than new drives as part of the recertification process. you're actually LESS likely to have an early failure with these than a new drive.

Also, these drives are some of, if not the best reliability drives according to the last few years of data from Blackblaze reports. In Blackblaze's use they experienced only 5 drive failures (of 8450 in use and nearly 3 years average age), and nearing 750,000 drive days of use.

Does anyone else hear a thunk noise from these drives every few seconds? I bought a few last time and all 3 make an audible noise even when idle.

$7.86/TB is fantastic. I'd be all over this if I didn't just replace a drive that had been running out of spec for temp over the past few years.

Yes, just purchase an external 3.5" drive enclosure & stick this disk inside. Said enclosures are like $25 on Amazon.

Yes, the sata connector is the standard consumer hdd one on your motherboard. You need an open sata port, power connector from your psu and mount space inside your chassis. If you have a slim or micro type pc this will unlikely work/fit
