Yes, the sata connector is the standard consumer hdd one on your motherboard. You need an open sata port, power connector from your psu and mount space inside your chassis. If you have a slim or micro type pc this will unlikely work/fit
Thanks for the reply! Any specific testing utility you should use? I think I have Crystal Disk Info and Crystal Disk Mark 8

I bought several of these new from server part deals. Well, the sas drives anyhow. None of them make noticeable noise.

I bought 8 of these for this price a week ago, I have only tested 1 but it did make a little noise to start then went away. Has right about 4 years worth of hours on it 17 startups.
They come with a card that says 5 year warranty.

I have bought perhaps 25 of these same drives as recerts from server part deals and all of those have been solid no noise for close to a year. Hoping for the same quality and life from these.

Isn't Newegg well known for terrible packaging?

picked up a couple for backup drives.
Can't really go wrong with HGST/WD drives.. I've got 8x hgst 3tb sas drives from 2012 still chugging along in my first homebuilt server from years ago.. and they were used when I bought them.
my 2nd server has 6x 8tb wd/ultrastar hdd's that were dated 2019 still going strong.

I'm building a 3rd one with with 8x 12tb hgst/wd sata drives, so far so good.

zero complaints with the brand, I suspect these will be more of the same

Did you buy from New Egg and they had the warranty card? Thanks.

Not exactly a bad price for a (USED) enterprise drive, but I've seen them in the $75 range all over the place. Right now there is a fake push to increase storage costs, so even used stuff is gonna go up! But then, how much can one really charge for a hammer and a chisel? I've got one in this PC right now, and it's very audible from 8' away when it's hammering out the next copy and paste (read/write) task.

Also note that most sellers will put a 5 year warranty on these drives. I have this on each of my (used/refurbished) enterprise drives. These are much faster drives overall compared to some of their consumer grade counterparts. But they'll sound like a box of rocks when they're working hard. Also note, the smart data will likely be wiped along with any storage data. The drive will look new to you, digitally, but it's been well used for sure! I've had great success with both Seagate and Western Digital, but as with all digital storage mediums, redundancy is your only key to success.

Good luck!

Bought several and run them in my synology box. I sit near it and they are not loud at all.

Both Amazon and Newegg. Then server part deals dot com later on. These are the reputable sites, other sites like ebay will offer same/similar with often less guarantee/warranty. But sometimes they all sell the same thing in all popular locations. Gotta just be on the look out.

Good luck!

I have to disagree with this. I've been using a DC HC550 (16TB model) for months and had a pair of HC320s (8TB) before that since 2019 and they've never been noticeably louder than the WD Blue drives or any other drive I've had since the 90s.

If your drives are vibrating "like crazy", there could be an issue inside your case. Bad mounting, broken cage, etc. Or your drives may be damaged but still chugging along. All modern drives should be balanced and not vibrate hardly at all if stationary.

Great price from a $/TB perspective with a the usual caveats. Personally I have no issue buying these recert drives and haven't had issues with the ones I have *knocks on wood*
