You must call Apple and tell them you don't need it and want a refund; that's the only way I think.

for $10 more, it's better to get with the warranty. Airpods have a pretty bad life expectancy. So when the batteries start dying, can easily get a replacement no problem with apple care. normally 2 year apple care is another $29 on top of that 189.99. makes no sense to buy it for the 189 price.
