Abes of Maine is a SCAM SITE, if you have any doubt google "Abes of maine reviews" and look at the actual forum threads on Reddit, DPReview etc, ignore all the "review sites" that are ballot box stuffed to be worthless. Literally one page of google results reading the titles of the threads should tell you what you need to know.
hardly. They have been around for many years and have a decent rep in the photography world. They offer import models (they are also an authorized dealer for many brands) and many photogs do buy imports. This Canon 5D Mk 4 is used heavily by the portrait or landscape shooters. It's built like the brick house.

This is just plain not correct. Abes of Maine WAS reputable 15 years ago, they went out of business and someone bought the name and website and it's run by a grey market/upsell/bait and switch scam outfit. You WILL NOT get what you order for the advertised price.

sorry, but I've ordered two items from them (a lense and a tele converter) and both arrived new in their sealed boxes). I look at them as a step below Adorama (my usual retailer) or BH, but when a import deal with big savings like this Canon pop up, I'll roll the dice. One always has credit card protection IF a problem. I have no problem buying import even though not serviceable in the US, but any good camera repair shop can fix. Although Canon has a excellent rep on repairs and tech support (best in the business I believe), if the price difference is large enough, I'll go import. Always YMMV.

What you say about the Canon 5D Mk 4 is correct, it has a very solid reputation. However, Abe's of Maine is well known as a scam site. They do NOT have a decent rep. Very very sketchy. Do some research. I would NEVER buy anything from them.

How long ago was this, because you're literally the first person who I've seen who, at least if you purchased recently, actually got what they ordered for the price posted online.

I read everything you wrote and comprehend it very well. Bully for you! Seems that you beat the odds. Others may wish to look at the BBB and other legitimate sites:
Agreed that I got a very skeevy vibe from the AbesOfMaine guy who called to "confirm my order" (which I did) and then he tried to up-sell me to the RetailBox model of the import-version Canon 5DmkIV and lens that I ordered. He claimed that I couldn't re-flash the firmware to change the language from Japanese to English (probably true) and that the camera would keep reverting from English to Japanese in the menu system every time I powered up the camera (this sounds a little sus; will try it and see). I can confirm that Magic Lantern isn't an option (yet? ever?) for the MarkIV version since development seems stopped. Only MarkIII and earlier can run ML firmware without crashing.
Same dude called me back AGAIN with a $300-extra off "manager approve discount" since I'm a good customer and am buying two things this time ... as long as I switch from the Import-version to the retail box version (I have bought from them in the past, but dude was trying too hard). Not sure what that's about. Maybe this is why everyone is saying they try to bait-and-switch. Let's see in 8-10 weeks if I get my white-boxed import models or if they cancel my order. If it's canceled, we'll know.
