I got the dual lens bundle a year ago and have used the z30 both for indoor object photography as well as travel and general walking around shooting moon, sunsets, wild life etc.
I did research extensively. This was before Sony A6700 but even after that got released I tested it and still like z30 better.
What I love about this over competition from Nikon's own line-up and other brands are:
1) clean and compact. No viewfinder or flash hump. Yes fully articulating screen. I love the clean look. It's also easy to slide into pockets with the kit lens. I miss the viewfinder sometimes but even then I'm finding using the touchscreen to focus and shoot can compensate for lack of VF.
2) deep, comfortable grip. Nikon has the best grip. It's like hugging with the camera. So you got a camera that's small, light, nimble, yet feels super comfortable and firm in the hand.
3) type c charging and transfer. So easy one cable does all for all gadgets, from drone to phone and now camera. Makes it super easy to manage and edit on the fly too, without having to set up the app sync. Very convenient and a luxury that Sony held out forever until last year's 6700. This alone beats any apsc without C port.
4) budget friendly. Save the money and get the 50-250mm lens it really adds utility to the camera because smartphone can do 16-50mm just as well, so I have 50-250mm on z30 like 90% of the time. If I only had kit lens I would not have loved this camera that much.

Sony definitely has a more robust availability of lenses including aftermarket lenses.
