It's not hard to buy however many. What took some work was negotiating a quantity discount with the manager. $847.97, but only if I took all six.
What store?

Lol this new generation of SDers never heard of "do not call". Kids these days I swear.
Back in my day HP had the biggest fire sale on tables you could imagine. They were giving them away for a hundred bucks 👴

Rather get an older m1 version with a faster SSD (meaning better more "ram" aka memory swapping) for the same price
Literally just made this call. Was told I'd never notice the issue with the M2 512gb but opted for the M1 16gb at 1tb.

Decided to go for this and will likely return my M3 Pro 1tb model that, while also a smoking holiday deal, is still $600 more and the return date is tomorrow. I'd be paying $600 more for extra storage, faster SSD speed, 2 extra gb of ram, and the admittedly cool space black color. But it's only a modest performance gain, and this deal blows most other MBP deals out of the water. I'll apply the savings to upgrade my next computer and an external drive.

Grabbed the closest one I could locally, but still had to drive an hour. It took a good 30 minutes of phone calls to various warehouses to find one and get straight answers--and I tried different stores and got different opinions on what OTHER stores had (some said none anywhere and some said yes). The item # was removed from many systems (shows up as "deleted") and some staff were better than others in figuring out how to accurately search for nearby inventory.

Bottom line--be prepared to make calls and then follow-up calls to the stores themselves to get confirmation. You can ask a store that has one to "hold" the item for you--they've done this for me twice before on other items and they did it again for me today.

Here is what I was told but this info could already be out of date:

2 left in New Rochelle, NY
1 left in Nanuet, NY
1 in Teterboro, NJ
2 in Brandywine, MD.

Happy hunting.

I had them search and the only ones in the metro ATL area on Tuesday were in Stockbridge and I grabbed them. Call your local store and they will give you inventory for all stores in the area over the phone. The only ones in the south when I called were in a few locations in Florida and Charleston. Then she stumbled upon Stockbridge (new store) and I drove an hour from Brookhaven to grab two.

New leader in the clubhouse. I thought I scored on the $999 open box.

I have a base 2009 MacBook that still works like it's brand new today. And that's with the garbage intel cpu
I am mostly using windows, although I have a few macbook airs. Let that person who posted tell me how long most Windows laptops last and wghat they are worth after 2-3 yrs? Macs tend to last alot longer as a general rule and are not devalued to zero or close after 2 yrs. Does he try and keep one laptop for 10 years of daily use?
