Popular FP deal on the Bosch 800 Dishwasher is back. $150 coupon until 2/28.
Also FYI their app is buggy and only showed me the 300 series when I filtered by brand. You'll have to click the deal link or use Google to get to the product.
Bought this dishwasher through Costco quite a few months back when it was "on sale". My previous dishwasher was hardwired so I knew I would either need the junction box or to convert to an outlet. I decided to just get a box and outlet and install it on the other side of my base cabinet (not behind the dishwasher). Super easy.
Installer came and did his job, nice guy and everything went way better than expected (read so many horror stories about Costco installs). He cleaned up everything, made sure the dishwasher worked and was on his way.

I just bought this last week when our dishwasher took a crap. I did get rid of the old one my self. It was hardwired. I left all the connections there and turned off the breaker. My mother in law was home for the install. Said it took the guys 5 mins to install it. So I assume it got hardwired in.
Great dishwasher. Bought it a few months back from Costco. Installed as extremely smooth via their contractors. They involved me PLENTY of times about the need for the extra electrical box for install, very common on Bosch one of the guys told me. If you have issues with install it's most likely the regional contractor they have. My install was flawless, as many others, from Costco.
Tried buying a KitchenAid dishwasher last week but Costco doesn't have installers in my city. Called in and they wouldn't offer a credit for the install. Like $175.
Figured out the install is not bad so I ordered directly from KA and doing it myself.
The biggest advantage to Costco is the 90 day appliance return if you get a lemon. But it was $300 less so I'm rolling the dice.

This model is slightly taller than the current, US made (this is made in Germany) model. For me, I would have had like 1/8" of play.
The tight fit and roulette wheel of Costco delivery service - led me to seek out something else. Especially since I was trying to have a dishwasher again before the holidays.
I had the Bosch 800 from Costco Installed last friday.
The installer included the hardwire kit, so I returned the one I bought from Lowes.
The install was quick, but not very thorough.
1) I have a stone counter top and would have preferred the alternate mounting so as to not have so much metal bracket visible with a gap between it and the counter... not a big deal, but not ideal.
2) They installed the stainless toe kick panel with two large head Philips screws. For a high end dishwasher with a stainless toe kick panel, it immediately stood out. Checked the install instructions which specify torx fasteners with caps are provided, which makes more sense. Installer claims Philips screws provided by Bosch. Unlikely, considering Bosch is now sending me free replacement screws and caps...
3) the toe kick panel installs onto two brackets which slot/push into the cover behind. The brackets have tabs which are meant to be pushed out after determining appropriate installation depth, so that the bracket doesn't just sink further in if pressure is applied to the panel. That step didn't happen either.
All in all, I regret not having them just deliver and haul away and doing the install myself. Although I do have to admit that laying with my back half on the cabinet while trying to reach all the way up past my deep sink to feed the drain high loop is one of my least favorite positions to be in, although I've done it a few times.
I replaced a 16 yr old Bosch 800 whose circulation pump quit. Don't know how often the PO used it, but I'd say we run the dishwasher about 1.5 to 1.7 times per day for the last 5 years. Being without a dishwasher for a week was quite a change of pace.
The new dishwasher has a sensor on the water supply which meant needing a larger hole drilled in the under sink cabinet and I couldn't reuse my malleable copper line as I hoped. On the plus side, compression fittings are no longer used on either side of the supply.
What is with towel bar dishwashers...why do I want my dish/hand towel to lay on the floor when I open the dishwasher?
