TUF F15, easily in almost every possible aspect.
Much better display, better processor, almost double the battery (90 Whr vs 53), and full powered 4070 (this one is 105W).

This is not worth spending $1000 for.

Just curious, is there a deal on the tuf laptop or are we seeing the same 1200 tag on Amazon?

I got a new TUF F15 with the 4070 from Best Buy for 1k recently but it was DOA.
This led me to other reports of them just randomly dying. From my limited searching, seems like capacitors pop on the motherboards if you are lucky which is repairable.

I ended up just getting a refund and bought a refurbished Legion 5 pro 4070 with 2 years of ebay warranty. Battery life sucks on the 5 pro 7745hx but hoping it's more reliable. I kind of regret not getting a replacement TUF F15 for that price but worried about the random mobo deaths. Although my F15 never turned on, the build quality seemed pretty solid to me & battery life can be awesome.

Katana are okay for desktop replacements but they are not real laptops you can move around. The reason they are cheap is that every non advertised spec is bottom of the barrel, including the incredibly cheap plastic in the chassis. The hinges are very flimsy and prone to breaking. Don't buy this if you need a mobile computer.

I got a TUF and it died (motherboard/battery connector failure per the Geek squad) one day after Best Buy's return window. Had to store shop to find one that would take it back.

Just be careful of these MSI laptops with poor hinges. Bought my MSI gaming laptop from Costco and babied it. It lasted barely a year. Computer was fine. Hinge broke. Google MSI and hinges and see for yourself

I'm with you on this.

I got a MSI Creator P75 at release. Picked it up new for 4k in 2019. I'm on my 3rd replacement of hinges. No more MSI laptops for me.

A laptop that costs 4k should not need new hinges every year.

How long have laptops been around? You would think this couldn't happen today.

Did Costco honor their warranty with this?

Ah yes, the classic MSI special. Hard to believe anyone who's done even the smallest bit of homework on gaming laptops would ever buy an MSI computer. Surprised Costco even carries them

I've bought 2 versions of the 17" GE75 Raiders from Costco that have been great for me over the last 3-4 years with heavy graphic / video design and gaming online daily and they've been champs. Seems like these new bodies aren't what they once were
