How does a sound bar like this compare to using a receiver with low-medium quality speakers?
(asking because my very old onkyo receiver is almost dead, my speakers are very average, seeing receivers in the $300to $500 range, i have a 5.1 wired set up in a small living room, view point less than 13 feet from tv, and also interested in music + multi game consoles and pc connected to setup). I know it is a noob question, sorry. trying to get a feel for what makes more sense to do.... Thx
If you have space/budget a dedicated system it will sound better. Room correction and presence will be signficantly better from a lower end atmos receiever + low/mid tier seperates + $150 powered sub. Most people with this bar due to space constraints or the low EPP price …but quite frankly these bars are HUGE for the class …but certainly more compact than separate speakers.

If your into movies this will work. If you want music, this bar seriously lacks. Tonally the bar lacks punch, and the bass is weak for music. Bose/Sonos/Sony/JBL bars sound better for music - but all considerably more expensive and what you would spend for a dedicated system.

Many like me have a dedicated system like yours in one room, and something like this in another. I'd stay with the dedicated system if you can swing it, even the lower tier speakers will have larger drivers and be better than whats in this bar. And you can upgrade over time.

Seems the better deal is to get q800c or q900c and add the wireless rears later. Ended up with the Q800C for $348 after a coupons. Looked at the Q900C, but the bar is too long for my space and Q800C was 30% cheaper.
What coupons brought it down to $348?

Wondering, if 9500S are also compatible with Q800C too?

Is the 910c really that bad in the grand scheme of things when comparing to 990c or even other sound bar systems? Most here speak about it as not worth it. Must be a lot of audiophiles and need the best of the best.

How's this compared to the HW-Q900C/ZA that's around $50 more?

Currently have the following:
Samsung MS650 Soundbar
Samsung SWA-W700 Sub
Samsung SWA9000s Rears

Can get the Samsung 910c for around $500 new and will sell the old system minus the Sub for $200.

Total cost to me around $300.

Is it worth moving to the 910c Samsung system? Unfortunately it doesn't look like the SWA-W700 sub is compatible with the 910c. At least not from what I have seen.

Anyways. Would appreciate some feedback!
